Executive Directors Message

Shirley Kine

Greetings from the Ancestral Territory of the Songhees and Esquimalt First Nations.  My name is Shirley and I hope to be of service to your organization as we continue to make vital contributions to the wellbeing of Seniors in the Greater Victoria Region.  I am very impressed how strong the team is here at Seniors Serving Seniors and look forward to their vital wisdom sharing as I develop within this role.  I see bright possibilities ahead for this organization and aim to assist in any way possible.  I look forward to meeting everyone – Board Members and Community Members alike.  Please make a point of reaching out to see where we can offer assistance.

Thank you for visiting the website of Seniors Serving Seniors Association of BC. Our organization was formed in 1981 by a group of committed individuals who recognized that seniors would greatly benefit by a one-stop shop for information on services.  Over time the Seniors Serving Seniors database of services for seniors has grown to include website addresses and unique programs that reflect the evolving needs of today’s senior. A steady flow of Canadian retirees relocating to Victoria and long time residents reaching age 65+ is creating a focus on seniors’ services in the Capital Region.  Victoria has one of the highest senior populations in Canada, and we are pleased to be able to offer our services free of charge.

With a significant and growing population of seniors we believe it’s essential that a comprehensive listing of services is maintained and navigation support is available to support their health care needs and  healthy living goals.

In addition to Information Services, Seniors Serving Seniors operates programs where dedicated volunteers support seniors in transition and make a huge difference in their lives during a difficult time.

We hope you find our website useful.  Please contact us for more information.
